Drama Feature: Itaewon Class (이태원 클라쓰) 2020 - Sunglasses

Park Saeroyi's life has been turned upside down after he gets expelled from school for punching a bully and his father is killed in an accident. Following his father's steps, he opens a pub named "DanBam" in Itaewon and, along with his manager and staff, strive towards success and reaching greater heights. - Wikipedia

Hello everyone,

Itaewon Class has been a very popular drama and I enjoyed it, overall. In some ways, it has a very predictable plotline, as it is an underdog revenge story, with a love triangle, and the evil characters have no redeeming qualities about them whatsoever. At the same time, the female leads are very different from the stereotypical female characters. They are complicated, have layers to them, and you both love and hate them at the same time.

That being said, I think what makes this drama special are the supporting characters. Itaewon Class touches on issues like racial discrimination and transgender issues, all topics that I have yet seen to be explored in Korea, especially in a Kdrama. My favorite characters in particular were Ma Hyunyi and Choi Seungkwon and their story. Hyunyi’s growth and strength really inspired me. She is a beautiful character, both inside and out.

In this post I have rounded up some of the sunglasses featured into Netflix’s Itaewon Class. There’s a lot of street fashion highlighted in this drama and I always love the time and energy Kdrama’s put into accessorizes and clothing (granted a lot of it is sponsored).

Where to Eat and Shop in Paris

Hey guys! I rounded up all of my favorite restaurants and places to shop in Paris – this guide is perfect for the aspiring foodie or shopper. I got some great deals on some brand name items in France, and I also meant this as a way to introduce you to some quintessentially French brands that you might not know. Keep in mind, some of them are at higher price points. I also included some things I've purchased for myself and for gifts down below. Happy Eating!

EM Cosmetics True Gloss Review & Swatches

Hello! It's been quite some time since our last post, but today I've brought you a review on one of EM Cosmetics' popular products, the True Gloss. If you haven't heard of EM Cosmetics, it is a cosmetics brand created by Michelle Phan, a famous Vietnamese-American beauty Youtuber. I can't call myself an OG fan, but I have seen some of her content and she's created a huge name for yourself. She revamped her cosmetics company after an initial rough start, which I find truly admirable and she's a great inspiration for Asian American visibility in the media.

I didn't try anything from his first launch as EM Cosmetics, but I CAN say I'm enjoying everything I've tried with her new re-designed company. The only thing truly lacking for me is the customer service, but I'll delve into that a little later. I'm going to give you my review and opinion on the glosses and also, provide some arm and lip swatches.

Hi guys~ after recently moving to Orlando I'm excited to say we were finally able to visit Disney. We also happened to make it to the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot. Rides and delicious food! What's not to love? Not to mention it was our first time back since elementary school, and let me tell you–it still felt just as magical. If you're interested in finding out what foods we enjoyed and what rides we went on, keep on reading below!

Drama Feature: What's Wrong with Secretary Kim (김비서가 왜 그럴까) 2018 - Fashion & Jewelry~~~~

"Can you be so self-absorbed that you have no idea what’s truly going on around you? Lee Young Joon (Park Seo Joon) is vice president of his family-owned company, Yoomyung Group. He is so narcissistic that he doesn’t pay attention to what his trusty secretary, Kim Mi So (Park Min Young), is trying to tell him most of the time. After nine years of making Young Joon look good and stroking his very large ego, Min So decides to quit her job. Young Joon’s older brother, Lee Sung Yeon (Lee Tae Hwan), is a famous author who is in love with Mi So. Can Young Joon accept the fact that Mi So no longer wants to work for him or will he get the wrong idea? "What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” is a 2018 South Korean drama series directed by Park Joon Hwa. It is based on a novel by Jung Kyung Yoon. A 2016 webcomic by Kim Young Mi also was based on the same novel." - VIKI

It would appear that doing a monthly drama feature was too ambitious for me. It's hard to consistently blog-- I don't have much time and these posts take forever.

Anyway, today I'll be doing this post more casually, featuring some jewelry and clothing. I'll only be highlighting some of my favorite items. If you have anything you're looking for in particular, you can ask and I'll try to find it!

A lot of the Korean brands have partnerships with the drama and it's very easy to find the items if you can read and write in Korean :)

Daily Look Elite Box Review: May 2018

Hi everyone!
So I recently decided to give Daily Look's Elite box a try after having tried Stitch Fix a number of times. Subscription boxes really seem to be in, and lately, I'm completely fascinated by the idea of having a personal stylist with curated pieces. Although I love shopping for myself, I was intrigued and wanted to "refresh" my wardrobe with some fashion items selected by someone else for me.

So this is how it works...

Fill out your style profile.
You can even share your social media profiles to personalize it further.

A personal stylist will pick your pieces. You receive an email when your box is styled, and you can preview the items. You can swap out up to 3 pieces if you don't like them.
You will have 7-12 pieces selected for you based on your styling profile. You can also contact your stylist via email.

I received my email saying my stylist had finished styling me quite a while before the box was shipped. If you want a surprise, you don't have to look at your "preview," but I did. I saw all of the contents and chose 3 pieces I didn't like. They let you "swap" them out if you don't like them. The stylist will pick 3 other items for you, but you don't get to know what they are. It's a gamble, but at least you make sure you don't get anything you really don't like.

There's a $40 styling fee that can be applied towards any items you keep from your box.

The box gets shipped to your front door and you can try them out.
My box arrived exactly on that date I chose. You get to try on the pieces and have 5 days after you get the box to make a decision.

Choose what you want to keep and send back the rest.
If you buy 3 or more items from your box you get 50% off the lowest priced item. Your styling fee ($40) is also applied at check out. The rest you don't want you can return in the box they provided you with. They include a free return label.

You check out online and can review all the items and specifically state what you liked and didn't like about each item. This is helpful for future stylings.
